🤔What should I include in a Driving for Work Policy? https://lnkd.in/e449EeDQ 👉We know some of you will already have a policy that covers all your employees who drive FOR work - or AT work - or WHILE working - and that includes those who use their own vehicles, for example. We know this because the law says companies must have policies and procedures to minimise risk – that includes the recognised risks around driving at work or for work. But does your policy include everything it should? ⚠️No harm in checking with our free policy builder, and you can also download a template policy to compare and make sure you have everything covered: https://lnkd.in/eiE_uhvs Please share with all your contacts #peaceofmind #saferroads #compliance #safetyatwork #driversafety #riskmanagement #HR #fleetmanagement Simon Turner MARRM MAFP Anne-Marie Penny DipASM MARRM Mark Cartwright ADRIAN walsh Becky Hadley Laura Foxon Sharon Mitchell Jim Magner FCILT, MARRM Nigel Holmes Georgina Lawrence Fiona Pick Mike Higgins BEng MILT Andrew Drewary FCILT MARRM Mel Clarke Charlotte Le Maire Pete Rushmer Duncan McNicol Lisa Dorn Karl Wilshaw Tim Marsh Kate Walker Kanwal Kanda Mark Piper Tavid Dobson Andrew Cox Dave Conway Andrew Drewary FCILT MARRM Tracy Thomas PG Dip DigM, F IDM

Our vision is a world where those who use the roads for work do so safely, efficiently and sustainably #fleetmanagement
About us
Driving for work is the most dangerous activity most employees ever undertake. Driving for Better Business is a campaign to help employers better understand the business benefits, such as reduced costs and improved efficiency, that come from managing work related road safety well. Our mission is to improve safety and reduce risk for all those who drive or ride for work, by promoting good management practice and demonstrating the significant business benefits that follow. It was officially launched in 2007 following a study showing that this area of road safety is often overlooked, both in workplace health and safety processes, and public road safety initiatives. Indeed surveys suggested at the time that some 79% of companies had not even recognised this as a risk area, and many employers still don’t. Yet it is an area where some organisations have achieved remarkable reductions in collisions, and associated costs, through relatively simple measures. These organisations are our ‘Champions’ and they have agreed to share their inspirational stories with other businesses. Their success in reducing collisions has brought them a range of benefits including lower insurance premiums, improved fuel efficiency, improved reputation and even reductions in recruitment costs due to lower staff churn because they are now better places to work.

Mental Health Week 💛 Van drivers of all ages are prone to poor mental health due to unpredictable journey times, traffic congestion, tight deadlines, a high workload and lack of social interaction; the suicide rate for van drivers is 25% higher than the national average. Driving alone all day, the stress of battling with the clock, and all the rest of it, doesn’t make life any easier. National Highways and Driving for Better Business have teamed up with calm to help you get your drivers through tough times. 🚚Driver policies - they are all very well, but how do you get driver buy-in? https://lnkd.in/e449EeDQ Your Driving for Work policy will only be effective if your drivers buy in to it. It has to be realistic, consistently applied, and reinforced on a regular basis. What other ways can you ensure your drivers are clear on the benefits to them of following your driving for work policies? 💡Register for the Driving for Better Business Portal - and you get our policy templates plus ongoing support, demonstrating how other organisations have done it. https://lnkd.in/e449EeDQ Simon Turner MARRM MAFP ADRIAN walsh Mark Cartwright Anne-Marie Penny DipASM MARRM Jim Magner FCILT, MARRM Sharon Mitchell Nigel Holmes Becky Hadley National Highways FORS - Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme CILT (UK) CLOCS ARRM UK Gary Elsey MBA Sadie Lane Adam Canton Mike Hayward Lesley O'Brien OBE FCILT Astrid van der Burgt FCILT MARRM Laura Moran Geraint Davies
